Scottish “tropical-pop” quartet Indigo Velvet have taken time out of their busy schedule to share their Mixtape with us.

Colourful shirts, African rhythms and varied indie-influences have led to critics describing Indigo Velvet as Tropical-pop.  It’s an easy description and one that’s not too far from the truth.  They are a band full of colour and rhythm but also a band that since 2016 have established a growing fanbase and clocked up over 250,000 Spotify plays as well as playing to significant crowds at T In The Park, Lindisfarne, Belladrum and XpoNorth.  The Edinburgh based band topped off 2016 with an energetic UK tour that saw them sell out dates in Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The band take their “topical-pop” sound out on the road during May playing:

Inverness | Mad Hatters  –  Thursday 4th May

Dunfermline | PJ Molloy’s  –  Friday 5th May

Glasgow | The Garage (Attic Bar)  –  Saturday 6th May

Press play and let it run.

1. Ayakara – Dresses from ’67
It’s got that vintage retro sound we believe it was recorded with one take in the studio which shows the lads’ great talent.

2. ABC – Look of Love
It’s a classic 80’s pop song which we are all fans of and always dab into that genre when song writing. It is a great summer tune.

3. Earth Wind And Fire – September
The is always first song we put on in the van when heading to gigs.

4. Young Fathers – Only God Knows
It’s great to see another Edinburgh band who are also family friends of jason doing so well and stick to their unique sound. This is a band that prove sticking to what you believe in really pays off!

5. Lady Gaga – The Cure
She is one of the most iconic females in pop music right now. She’s a queen!

6. The Vegan Leather – Shake It
They are one of the most exciting bands to come out Scotland right now and this song live really captures their high energy and momentum.

7. The Kooks – Westside
They are like the face of indie music and they were a band that you could not ignore growing up as a teen in the 2000’s. Even this is one of their newer songs, they seem to write hit after hit.

8. Clean Cut Kid – We Used To Be In Love
We are all great fans of this band and take a lot of inspiration from them. Again, we this song shows the band off really strongly.

9. Marscians – Friends
We played a couple of shows with them back in novemeber when we were both on tour and met new pals. Back then you could see that they were going on to do bigger and better things and since then they have taken off massively.

10.Cyndi Lauper – Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
It’s another another anthem that we love to listen to as a band and always turn it up when it comes on in the van.
