JAMES ARTHUR is set to headline the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in the Highlands next summer.
As one of the world’s most prominent streaming artists, James boasts over 38 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. His breakthrough hit in the US, ‘Say You Won’t Let Go,’ officially became the UK’s most streamed song in 2016, accumulating 4 billion streams and 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Earlier this year, the track earned James his first RIAA Diamond Single certification, a rare achievement shared by only 100 artists in the program’s history.
He joins the previously announced, DEACON BLUE, SUGABABES, SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR and TEENAGE FANCLUB.
Joining the lineup are past Bella headliners OCEAN COLOUR SCENE, known for their enduring success in the Britpop era, with three Top 5 albums and a string of hit singles.
Making his Belladrum debut is singer-songwriter JAKE BUGG, who, at 29, has grown into his own, showcasing his strength and versatility over five albums. His latest release, ‘Saturday Night, Sunday Morning,’ marks a bold chapter, blending catchy guitar hooks with introspective lyrics, creating a record that resonates with a spectrum of emotions.
Folk royalty KATE RUSBY, celebrating over 30 years of touring and her 50th birthday year, will make her first appearance at Bella. Known for her captivating vocals and cross-over appeal, Rusby has earned numerous accolades, including a Mercury Prize and six BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Other noteworthy additions to the festival include singer-songwriter CALUM BOWIE from Edinburgh, master musician N’FAMADY KOUYATE from Guinea, London and Cornwall’s LILY LYONS.
Inverness band THE JOSHUA HOTEL, Highland indie-rock 4-piece FORGETTING THE FUTURE, Scotland’s premier tribal band CLANN AN DRUMMA, emerging act LOW LIGHT LISTENING LOUNGE, and late-night Grassroots sets by MCLEETWOOD and MACFLOYD.
