Broken Chanter on Tour: Autumn 2024

David MacGregor, the creative force behind Broken Chanter, is heading out on tour this Autumn.

Netsounds are delighted to be working with Broken Chanter to bring the tour to our hometown of Inverness.

Known for his time as the principal songwriter for the beloved alt-pop band Kid Canaveral from 2007 to 2017, MacGregor has a knack for crafting songs that evoke a spectrum of emotions—from joy to melancholy—all within a single performance. Kid Canaveral’s debut album, Shouting at Wildlife, was hailed by The Herald as “a Scottish pop classic that should be mandatory in every record collection,” while their follow-up, Now That You Are a Dancer, earned a nomination for the Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2014.

As Broken Chanter, MacGregor showcases his versatility as both a storyteller and a poignant singer. Whether performing solo with just his guitar or electrifying audiences with a full band, he creates an expansive soundscape rich in emotion. His self-titled debut album as Broken Chanter was released in September 2019 and received widespread critical acclaim. In April 2024 he returned with the an outstanding new album titled Chorus of Doubt, which has earned his another nomination for the Scottish Album of the Year Award.
