Unplugged Delight: Iain McLaughlin, Willie MacAskill, and Kris Douglas at The Tooth and Claw, Inverness
On a crisp February evening, The Tooth and Claw in Inverness played host to a trio of intimate solo acoustic sets, showcasing the raw talent and heartfelt songwriting of three of the city’s finest musicians.
First up was Kris Douglas, who set the tone for the night with his rich compositions and emotive storytelling, drawing the audience in with every note. Willie MacAskill followed, delivering a spellbinding performance with intricate fingerpicking and warm, expressive vocals—possibly Inverness’ very own James Taylor. Closing the evening was Iain McLaughlin, whose soulful voice and deeply personal songs provided a powerful and fitting finale.
The atmosphere was relaxed yet electric, as the crowd soaked in the stripped-back beauty of each performance. It was a night that celebrated the power of song, proving that sometimes, all you need is a guitar, a voice, and a story to tell.
