Award wining indie-folk sensation, The Elephant Sessions brought their lively show to Glasgow’s o2 Academy.

The Highland based folk fusion band formed in 2012, they have been making waves across the UK with their dynamic fusion of intricate melodies, seamlessly blending selements of traditional, funk, and electronica, resulting in an innovative and captivating sound. Their debut album, “The Elusive Highland Beauty,” in 2014, garnered widespread critical acclaim. The album, along with subsequent tours and festival performances, led to the band clinching the Best Up and Coming Act award at the 2014 BBC Alba Trad Music Awards.

Even Mercury Prize-winning band Alt-J, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6, became enthusiasts of the band’s distinctive indie folk style. Reviews from Rolling Stone Magazine shared space with features in folk magazines, while radio appearances were complemented by documentaries and television highlights.

Their achievements continued with the BBC MG Alba Album of the Year accolade for ‘All We Have is Now’ in 2017 and, more recently, for their latest album, ‘For The Night,’ at the close of the previous year. Additionally, the band secured a spot on the shortlist for the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award.

In 2018, they claimed the Live Act of the Year honour at the BBC Scots Trad Music Awards and received a nomination for ‘Best Group’ in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The band have a string of dates lined up for 2024 and are festival partners in a brand new 2 day festival for 2024, ‘Black Isle Calling – Live at the Brewery’ outside Inverness.  More details here.
