The King Tut’s Stage at TRNSMT Festival 2018 sprawls over two weekends and showcases an immense amount of new talent.
TRNSMT Festival 2018 takes place at Glasgow Green on Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st July and on Friday 6th July and Saturday 8th July. Headliners are Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Queen + Adam Lambert and The Killers. But we turn our focus to the brilliant new acts that will be making their mark on the King Tut’s stage this year.
We had an immense time last year soaking up some of the best hotly-tipped bands in the land on the King Tut’s and the Jack Rocks stages. Check out our TRNMST 2017 vlog from the King Tut’s stage here.
The full line-up for TRNSMT 2018’s King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy is; Tom Walker, The Sherlocks, Sigrid, Nina Nesbitt, Pale Waves, IAMDDB, Walking on Cars, Marmozets, King No-One, Anteros, Kyle Falconer (full band), Dermot Kennedy, Jane Weaver, Sam Fender, The Snuts, Confidence Man, Ninth Wave, The Magic Gang, Gang of Youths, Island, Bas and Juanita Stein.
These acts will all make their appearance on the King Tut’s stage which is a chance for fans to see these rising stars before they hit the big time. Last year both Declan McKenna and Tom Grennan played the King Tut’s stage and will now go on to play TRNSMT’s Main Stage in 2018.
The Sherlocks who we caught in session last year at Belladrum Festival are a fitting addition to the Liam Gallagher headlined TRNSMT Festival date as the four piece were Liam’s main support on the European leg of his tour. The band, which is made up of two sets of brothers, released their debut album which went to number 6 in the official UK charts. The band said: “Scottish crowds have always been very kind to us and they’re the wildest crowds we’ve played to!”
Norwegian singer-songwriter and all round pop sensation Sigrid is an exciting addition to the King Tut’s Stage on Sunday 1st July. The 21 year old recently became one of the youngest musicians ever to be honoured with BBC Music’s Sound of 2018, which has previously backed artists like Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and Adele, and suggests 2018 will be her biggest year yet. With her anthemic electro-pop tunes ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and ‘Strangers’, Sigrid is sure to put on a show at TRNSMT 2018.
