On Thursday, November 7th, Inverness will come alive as rock fans from across the UK and Europe converge for Monsterfest 2024.
This vibrant music festival kicks off at various venues, culminating in the main event at Eden Court Theatre on November 8 and 9.
Now in its sixth year, Monsterfest began in 2018, pausing in 2020 due to the pandemic. This year’s festival marks the final edition as organizers look forward to exploring new projects in the future.
This edition promises an exciting lineup featuring prominent rock artists. Ricky Warwick, known for his roles in The Almighty and the latest iteration of Thin Lizzy, will perform an exclusive UK show with his solo band ahead of his upcoming album release in 2025. Additionally, the festival will showcase the Kris Barras Band, currently one of the UK’s top new rock acts, who made waves with a top 5 album chart position in April.
Adding a classic rock flair to the festivities is Marco Mendoza, former bassist for Journey, Whitesnake, and Thin Lizzy. He will lead a stellar lineup on Friday night, including Mats Leven, vocalist for Adrian Vandenberg, performing beloved hits from Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake. Local talents Josh Mackenzie and Kenna Ross will also join them on stage.
Continuing its tradition, Monsterfest will host an Education Day, where nearly one hundred students will gain insights from music industry experts and hear about Marco Mendoza’s illustrious career, which notably includes performing at the wrap party for the iconic film Dirty Dancing in 1987.
Beyond the headliners, attendees can look forward to a diverse array of UK and local acts throughout the weekend, including rising stars like Muddibrooke and Stone Angels, alongside local favorites such as Lucid Liars, Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders and Bad Actress.
