Netsounds Tomatin Bothy Sessions at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival
For the past 10+ years Netsounds have captured live sessions at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival but this year was one of our most intimate and cherished experiences at the Tomatin Bothy.
The Tomatin Bothy Sessions, hosted by Tomatin Whisky and the Netsounds team, was a unique opportunity to discover emerging talents and experience established artists in an acoustic and stripped-back setting. This year’s lineup was nothing short of spectacular, featuring a mix of seasoned performers and rising stars who captivated audiences with their raw talent and heartfelt performances. And they were all “secret pop-up performances”.
Among the standout acts was Jamie Lawson, whose soulful voice and emotive lyrics resonated through the bothy walls, creating an atmosphere of introspection and connection. Joe Goodall, with his folk-infused melodies, transported listeners to a serene landscape where storytelling took centre stage.
Roseanne Reid‘s haunting vocals left a lasting impression, while Murdo Mitchell‘s intricate guitar and powerful storytelling mesmerised the crowd. The Laurettes brought their infectious energy, urging the crowd to sing along and join in the revelry.
MacGilli and The Collective provided moments of sonic exploration, blending genres and pushing musical boundaries. Colonel Mustard, known for their vibrant stage presence and community spirit, turned the bothy into a colourful spectacle of peace and love.
Ned Ashcroft and Sub Violet offered quieter, contemplative moments, their performances weaving delicate melodies that hung in the air. Abbie Gordon and Alice Faye charmed with their heartfelt ballads, and Callum Beattie delivered an emotive performance and mass sing-a-long that packed out the Tomatin Bothy.
There were pipes too, with Major Blowhard, while Tartan Paint and Calum MacPhail added their celtic-indie-rock flair to the mix, ensuring there was something for every musical palate.
