Black Isle Calling: A Perfect Farewell to Summer
As the sun dipped over the Cromarty Firth, the second Black Isle Calling festival delivered a fitting finale to Highland summer — a weekend alive with music, colour, and connection.
Set at the Black Isle Brewery just north of Inverness, organised by The Ironworks Venue, Elephant Sessions and Black Isle Brewery, the festival opened on Friday, September 12 with performances from Beluga Lagoon, Talisk, Delap, and Andie.
By Saturday the atmosphere had reached full saturation and the crowd had their dancing shoes on for headliners Elephant Sessions and an epic set from one of Scotland’s long-time favourite bands, Idlewild. It was a a mix of musical styles on Saturday, from folk to rock and indie with Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, Lusa, Kinnaris Q, Ron Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra, Katie Gregson-MacLeod and The Dazed Digital Age.
Throughout the weekend, DJs such as Dannsa, Fairsfair (Midnight Majic), Household, and Tune In Youth Project kept the vibes pulsing after dark.
Our photographers captured it all: the music, the moments, and the unmistakable spirit of Black Isle Calling — the Highlands’ last summer festival, and one that leaves us already counting down the days until next year.
