Rick Redbeard shares new single ‘End Of It All’ ahead of new album

Scottish musician Rick Redbeard has shared new single ‘End Of It All’, the first taste of his forthcoming album To The Light Return, due December 4 via Lost Map Records.

As long-time fans of Rick’s music here at Netsounds, we’re delighted to see him return with a new solo record. The melancholic, krautrock-inspired single explores creative rediscovery against an apocalyptic backdrop, offering a glimpse of a deeply personal album shaped by family, loss, change and renewal.

Rick Redbeard is the solo project of Rick Anthony, best known as frontman of Glasgow band The Phantom Band and one half of atmospheric folk duo Afterlands. To The Light Return is his third solo album and first for Lost Map, featuring contributions from friends and family, including Afterlands collaborators Davey McAulay and Jill O’Sullivan, alongside The Phantom Band’s Iain Stewart.

Recorded in his parents’ house in Aberdeenshire, the nine-track album reflects on fatherhood, grief, relationships and finding his way back to music.

To The Light Return will be released on limited-edition 12-inch vinyl, CD and digital platforms on December 4, 2026.
