A look back at some of the artists and performances Netsounds captured during Eden Court’s 2026 Under Canvas season.
This summer saw the return of Under Canvas at Eden Court, bringing a packed programme of live music and performance to the festival tent on the banks of the River Ness.
Over the course of the summer, Netsounds was there to capture a selection of the events, covering everything from traditional and contemporary Scottish music to Cuban and Latin rhythms, global sounds and electronic beats.
Our first visit saw Liza Mulholland & Metagama Friends, joined by the young musicians of Fèis Spè. Liza was joined by Charlie McKerron, Willie Campbell and John Joe MacNeil for music inspired by Metagama: An Atlantic Odyssey, following the Fèis Spè musicians’ opening set.
We were also there for an evening featuring Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson and Edinburgh collective Los Chichanos. Dickinson’s guitar-led set was followed by a lively mix of Peruvian cumbia, chicha, Afro-Latin rhythms, Cuban son and Brazilian grooves from Los Chichanos.
Another of the summer’s nights brought together Adam Ross & Gillian Fleetwood, followed by Rachel Sermanni & Louis Abbott of Admiral Fallow, with two very different sets of Scottish songwriting and musicianship.
We also captured one of the final nights of the series featuring Karawane – the Scottish-based DJ duo of Mark Thompson and Ali Aitken. Their four-deck sets bring together organic and global dancefloor sounds including afrobeat, salsa, cumbia, highlife, soukous and samba.
Across the events we photographed, Under Canvas showcased just how broad the programme has become, with artists and performers working across traditional, contemporary, folk, world and electronic music.
