‘Younger’ is a beautiful introduction to the forthcoming album with its stark, lo-fi indie folk sound and Beerjacket‘s trademark emotionally poignant songwriting.

The new single is taken from Beerjacket’s  fourth album Health Hour due out on October 9th.  Health Hour was written and produced entirely alone at home during lockdown from March until July with no set idea of what it should or shouldn’t sound like.

Having begun life as an acoustic home-recording project for singer/songwriter, Peter Kelly, Beerjacket has supported The National, St Vincent, Kristin Hersh, Joan As Police Woman, Feist, Mogwai, Bat For Lashes and Frightened Rabbit, amongst many others.

After two studio albums – The White Feather Trail (2011) and Darling Darkness (2014)Scottish Fiction released the album of songs and book of short stories, Silver Cords (2018), which led to an appearance at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and radio play from BBC Radio 6 Music and KEXP.

‘Younger’ is available now as a download from Bandcamp.
