The Joshua Hotel release retro look video to accompany latest single, “Repetition Town”.

The Joshua Hotel is the project of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, Joshua Mackenzie. The new release is the follow up to The Joshua Hotel’s debut, ‘The Moments’ which came out last February.

“Repetition Town” is a wonderful, refreshing and hypnotic indie funk single with stylish synths influenced by Metronomy and maybe even Japan circa 1980/81.

Joshua said of “Repetition Town”:  “Lockdown inspired a lot of reminiscing about my teenage years throughout the noughties. Influenced by artists of the time; Metronomy, Justice and LCD Soundsystem, I wanted to capture the essence of youthful escapism in a boring coastal town. ‘Repetition Town’ is a love letter to endless summers of cruising around, in your parents’ car with your High School sweetheart, trying to impress them with your mixtape.”

The accompanying retro video was filmed by Joshua in his home in the Highlands and produced by Metronomy collaborator Gabriel Rolim in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
