Singer-songwriter , Mima Merrow makes her mark with debut single, ‘Freckles’.

New single, ‘Freckles’ is one of the most compelling and beautiful tracks I’ve heard in the past few dark months.  The music is a unique blend of alternative folk and her subtle Belfast accent peeks through wistful piano lines and dynamic sonic builds.

“Freckles’ is taken from Merrow’s debut EP, Good Grief due for release 1 December 2020 and recorded and mixed by Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan.

Growing up in Northern Ireland has left its imprint of intergenerational trauma and gaps of her history have been lost. Songwriting has helped reconnect her with her cultural heritage and give her confidence to reconnect with some of those ancient narratives.

A chance meeting with Mississippi’s AJ Meadows in Glasgow led to her first notable musical collaboration and so she laid her roots in a new city and the rest is a new history.
